Collaboration

As a consequence of twelfth SAARC Summit followed by a series of meetings an agreement was signed between the SAARC Secretariat and the Asian Development Bank for Technical Assistance of US$ one million to SAARC for Energy Sector Dialogue and SAARC Energy Centre Capacity Development Project. The main components of Technical Assistance comprise SAARC Regional Energy Trade Study (SRETS) and capacity building of SAARC Energy Centre.

SAARC Energy Centre is developing institutional linkage with ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) located in Jakarta, Indonesia. A draft proposal is under process aiming at cooperation in the areas of policy dialogue, exchange of experts, publications and reports, human resource development and training, joint R&D projects, holding joint seminars/workshops/conferences, and other areas of mutual benefit to SEC and ACE.
