SAARC Energy Center (SEC), Islamabad successfully conducted a dissemination workshop for the study on SAARC Energy Outlook 2030 on 26th – 27th November 2019 in Kathmandu, Nepal. This workshop was attended by delegates of the SAARC Member States from Afghanistan, Maldives, Nepal and Pakistan. During this workshop, participants were given detailed overview of the study report including existing energy scenarios in SAARC Member States, the future forecast of energy demand and consumption in all SAARC Member States, the comparison of different energy sources, identification and discussion of the relevant opportunities and challenges, and recommendations to the SAARC policy makers, manufactures, energy utility companies, and various market players dependent on energy. Moreover, the cross-border electricity trade within SAARC countries or between SAARC countries and neighboring countries was also discussed in detail.
